Located in Springville, New York, Gramco Inc. is a family-owned and operated retail and wholesale feed dealer with a focus on custom dairy feed. The independent company has weathered many shifts in the industry over its 100-plus years in business and emerged as one of the most trusted names in feed in Western New York.
Founded in 1911 as the James H. Gray Milling Company, the name was consolidated to Gramco in 1958 when Donald Mattison took over the business from his father, Eugene Mattison. When Donald passed away, his wife, Virginia "Sibby", became president. Sibby was the first woman to become president of the Eastern Federation of Feed Merchants. In 1987, Donald and Sibby's son, Bob, took over as president/CEO.
Today, Robert "Bob" Mattison, continues to run Gramco. He has worked for Gramco for nearly 50 years. Some of his earliest memories are of Gramco, “When my dad took over in 1958, I used to ride with him and visit our six additional feed mills."
Under Bob's leadership, Gramco moved into a state-of-the-art feed mill in Springville, has grown to a fleet of 17 trucks and now delivers feed to customers within a 150-mile radius of the Springville mill.
In addition to running Gramco Inc., Bob has built a national reputation in the feed industry. Bob has been a member of the Northeast Agriculture and Feed Alliance for over 23 years and is the former President of the Eastern Federation of feed merchants. He is also deeply committed to the community that Gramco serves. Bob is a member of the Board of Directors of Cattaraugus County Bank and was a church elder at First Presbyterian Church of Springville.
